Jane Eyre
Wow. It might not be a very descripive word but in this case I believe there is no other that can surmise so quickly how completely and utterly fantastic this book is. Charlotte Bronte truly has a gift for words. I read this book with few expectations and almost no idea of what jt would entail. But now I can hardly stop myself from praising it. It was that good! Jane Eyre is a story of love and duty, propriety and forgiveness. It is about a young governess that finds a home through serving her master. As an orphan, Jane was raised dependent on others that did not want her. However, when she finds a place of employment she soon finds an equall in her master Mr Rochester. He confides in her and they becomes fast friends despite his gloomy and snappish personality. It is the story of Jane coming to terms with her past and her course to love. I love this novel because charlotte captures the true nature of love: that it is imperfect but immovable. It grows and then remains for eternity. If it is true it will never fade, and each half will do all it can to preserve it. I will always love this book because of this and also the unpredictable and unforseeable conflicts, circumstances and twists that arise when the reader least expects it.

Agnes Grey
Though Charlotte Bronte and Emily Bronte have both found much fame theough their works, I have always been much more interested in the acheivements of their younger, less conspicuous sister. Anne Bronte has a style quite of her own. Some may say that she is conpairable to Jane Austen in her romantic and logical outlook, which I wouldn't disagree with. Though Anne was never quite as successfull as her sisters, I find her novels intruiging and her tone admirable. She writes about problems that were common in her time, facing them head on and confronting society.
Agnes Grey is a novel about a simple governess. Agnes is ambitious and seeks learning in what ever way she can. Anne writes about the perils and obstacles that governesses often face in their field of employment. Little respected and truly unappreciated, Agnes lives in two homes, trying, but to no avail, to educated her young charges. I admire Annes bold confrontation of these issues in her society though she was well educated, many people thought little of her and her fellow instructors. I admired the romantic and religious aspects that she incorporated. They gave her character a strong motivation and I am sure that they have inspired faith in many readers. This book uplifts and reminds us that happiness can be found in the smallest measures and in the smallest things.

To my readers
Recently one of my friends commited herself to composing -or rather writing- a blog for each of the novels that she reads in her leasure time. I myself found this to be a great idea and upon her encouragement I have decided to follow her course, discussing, analysing and sharing the precious novels that I read so often. Though few may happen upon this blog or find my opinion of any consequence I believe that much good will be imparted- if not only to myself. Though reading has become an uncommon and rare passtime I believe that those who still believe in the importance and joy of this god given gift might find my simple, yet sincere blog to be of some interest. I will seek first to examine the inspiration a work provides rather than to analyse such pieces of art- for that is what a book is- in a way that detracts from the authors initial meaning and tone. This may not be the kind of blog my teachers would thoroughly approve of but as the reader and now the writer, I believe that I have every right to state simply and animatedly the thoughts that find their way into my mind, however unstudied and naive they may seem. Books are created for the enjoyment of the reader and to impart some wisdom that may hitherto have been lost. This blog will help me to demonstrate the affect literature has on my life and the lives of each insividual that seeks comfort in the peace-giving p
